More than 35 years ago, Simone embarked on her storytelling journey, inspired by her two young children. Peter Sporn is a first-time author of “Every Child’s Toy”. He was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and now resides in Boynton Beach, Florida. He married a Swedish woman and moved to Sweden. He lived there for 23 years. This is where he was inspired to write his first book. Becoming a single parent was a difficult time for him, especially in a different country. He learned quickly that raising 2 children was a difficult task. He also learned that trying to fix or heal all the wounds of a small child was next to impossible. He was able to portray some help through writing stories for them.  His son Zach lost his favorite toy at the age of 8. It was a traumatic moment in Zach’s young life.  To heal his son’s sadness, Peter was inspired to write his first book in a series of 6.

Every Child’s Toy is based on an event that happened to my son when he was 8. He lost his favorite toy one day going to a friend’s house on his bicycle, a little stuffed tiger named Trigger. He was devastated. As a parent, all I wanted to do was fix this for him. You really can’t explain to a child what happens. So, I was inspired at this point to write a book explaining what happens to lost toys. There is a land not far from our own backyard called Kvibbland. In this land, there are tiny creatures that come here to collect lost toys and give them to other children to make them happy. When I first read this to him it brought comfort and joy knowing that his lost toy brought happiness to someone else. It made the pain of losing something close to him easier. So, I figured if this story would bring happiness to my kids why wouldn’t it bring happiness to all children that have lost something dear to them? Maybe it will also help other parents ease the pain of their own children when this happens to them.
